Starship Fuseki is a conversion of the Atari VCS game Starship from 6502 assembly code to BennuGD, done by the Grok 3 AI assistant of X.com, utilizing some of the gameplay of variant 1 of the VCS game, and only the basic framework of the game itself (star generation, enemy patterns, etc). The game also utilizes 3d sprite scaling experiments that I have been working on for some time, and this is a rudimentary test of those experiments. The gameplay is a cross between the VCS game and the 1977 Atari coin-operated game Starship 1. The D-pad or analog stick aims the crosshairs, and the A button fires your missiles. The further away the enemy ships are, the higher the hit score. Avoid hitting the asteroids (indestructible), enemy ships, and the mothership that comes flying in fast (shoot for bonus points). Each hit by an enemy or asteroid costs 50 fuel units and reduces the game time. The game features automatic VMU high score saving.
